High School Academic Year
Our High School Programme gives participating students the opportunity to study in an Irish Secondary School (High School), and through living and studying in Ireland the student will be given the opportunity to become fluent in English. All the schools offered in this programme follow the Junior and Senior cycle.
Irish students enter High School at 12/13 years and the Junior cycle takes 3 years. Students take approximately 9 subjects mathematics and English being compulsory. At the end of the Junior cycle students take the Junior Certificate Examinations.
The senior cycle prepares students for the Leaving Certificate Examinations, which is a recognised entry qualification for both Irish and UK. Universities. Each University sets its own academic entry levels. The cycle can be 2 or 3 years in duration.
